Organization
Board oversight, executive leadership, regional commercial authority and independent control align around every physical transaction.
Leadership and governance
Kafra Core Group is led by José Mateo Eguiguren, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer and Group Head of Trading. The Chief of Staff coordinates the CEO office and cross-hub governance, while commercial leadership, trade finance, cargo execution and independent control remain separately accountable.
Trading, operations, risk, compliance and settlement responsibilities are segregated. Material commitments, new counterparties, limit changes and control exceptions follow defined authority and escalation procedures.
Operating structure
The structure below presents functional roles and target accountability. It is not a public staffing roster and does not disclose confidential reporting data.
Hub responsibilities
The two principal hubs have distinct mandates and operate through shared transaction records, approval standards and escalation routes. New York supports financing coordination, while Hong Kong extends Asia-Pacific commercial coverage without fragmenting accountability.
Commercial leadership, crude trading books, structured trade finance, treasury, European banking, Group finance, compliance and risk oversight.
Producer and institutional origination, government relations, cargo execution, chartering, documentation, vessel review, operational KYC and settlements support.
Banking relationships, trade-finance coordination and funding support during Americas market hours.
Regional buyer coverage, demand qualification, pricing intelligence and cargo coordination.
Functional platform
A physical trade moves through separate commercial and control functions. Each team owns defined decisions, records and escalation responsibilities.
Portfolio strategy, trading-book supervision, delegated authority, pricing discipline and commercial performance.
Middle East, West Africa, Mediterranean, Americas and Gulf coverage with defined book ownership and position accountability.
Liquidity planning, bank-instrument coordination, payment security, documentary review and settlement readiness.
Independent exposure monitoring, mark-to-market review, counterparty limits, concentration control and escalation.
KYC/KYB, beneficial-ownership review, sanctions controls, escalation and financial-crime governance.
Freight economics, nominations, vessel suitability, terminals, inspection, documents and cargo close-out.
Treasury, invoices, bank verification, receivables, payables, accounting and management reporting.
Producer, NOC, government, bank and strategic counterparty relationships coordinated across the Group.
Control architecture
Trading cannot independently complete operations or settlement. Nominations, documentary changes, letters of credit and payment instructions require the designated operational and financial controls.
New counterparties, transactions outside delegated authority, limit changes and material exceptions escalate to senior management and, where required, the Board.
Operating locations
Geneva and Dubai form the principal operating hubs. New York functions as a financing-support desk for banking relationships, trade-finance coordination and funding support, while Hong Kong extends Asia-Pacific market coverage.
